Atlohsa Family Healing Services is seeking a motivated and dynamic individual to fill the role of HR Manager. The HR Manager understands that Atlohsa is a not-for-profit charitable organization, with a mandate to offer the tools Indigenous families and individual’s need to heal their physical, mental, emotional and spiritual being.
Role and Responsibility
The HR Manager reports to the Executive Director and works closely with the leadership team. The HR manager will advise managers, supervisors, and employees as necessary, according to the ESA and other legal entities. They will support a variety of human resource functions, including but not limited to recruitment and selection, compensation, benefits, training and development, employment laws, and performance management. As part of the leadership team, the HR Manager is responsible for ensuring that Atlohsa's internal infrastructure, processes, and policies operate efficiently and in compliance with the legal requirements that govern a registered charity. They will also perform a variety of administrative tasks to ensure that Atlohsa operates effectively. The HR manager will coordinate closely with the Finance department about payroll/timesheets and benefits to assess risk management related to HR.
Suitability
- Oversee, refine, and execute employee standards and procedures, using and improving HR existing and recommended systems and processes
- Maintain and enhance employee benefits programs, including compensation, health insurance, expenses, vacation, and other personnel packages
- Assist with recruitment efforts, and prepare employees for assignments by establishing and/or conducting orientation and training programs. As well as retention and succession planning; Oversee the employee life cycle
- Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable HR federal and state requirements, conducting investigations, and maintaining records
- Identify and recommend areas of improvement to internal standard operating procedures, including team restructuring and morale
- Supervise the maintenance of personal records
- Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation and retention of talent top
- Evaluate potential or proposed termination actions for managers and employees to ensure it is conducted in accordance with the law
- Effective communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with others in a respectful manner as defined in the Atlohsa Code of Conduct

REMUNERATION: $40.50/hour, plus comprehensive benefits package
