London, ON – The deadline for members of the community to nominate deserving recipients for the 2022 Atlohsa Peace Awards has been extended from September 27 to October 18, 2022!
We’re looking for individuals or organizations who are making outstanding contributions and inspiring social change in the spirit of Truth and Reconciliation. Their accomplishments in culture, arts, education, public service, business, or advocacy are not only addressing needs, they are improving livelihood, building bridges and breaking down barriers for and with Indigenous communities.
We will be honouring 9 individuals / organizations, including a new category this year, the Lifetime Achievement Award. The Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes the lifetime work of an individual who has made outstanding contributions to community, inspiring social change, in the spirit of truth and reconciliation.
Members of the public are encouraged to visit AtlohsaPeaceAwards.com to submit their nomination by Tuesday, October 14th, 2022 @ 11:59pm EST. Nominees must be residents of Ontario.
This will be the fourth annual Atlohsa Peace Awards. To-date, we have raised almost $200,000 for Atlohsa’s Zhaawanong 24-hr Emergency Women’s Shelter, which provides safety for women and children at risk of violence, abuse, and homelessness. Event details to come.
